Hello readers.. This is my first actual movie review so please do forgive me if there are certain flaws and mistake in it.. Here it goes..
It was a great movie although I was a bit disappointed because there are some scene from the book that didn't make it to the big screen but all around it was a great movie. Shailene Woodley did a great job on portraying Hazel Grace Lancaster and the same goes for Ansel Elgort who played Augustus Waters. Shailene was able to bring the character just like in the book. And Ansel, he is just.. Wow.. The way he played Augustus is just amazing. He was able to bring out Gus's cheeky, funny, dorky, charismatic and romantic character. All around the cast was able to bring out every character that they play. Willem Dafoe did a great job on portraying Peter 'The Douche Pants' Van Houten.. But still, I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't put the "Hump The Cave wall" scene or the scene where the sell the "Lonely, Vaguely Pedophilic Swing Set Seeks The Butts of Children" or the scene where Gus told Hazel that she look like a milennial Natalie Portman. I mean that was like the best scenes but I'm okay with that because the movie was awesome. And some of the scenes really makes you think that you're lucky you don't have cancer and throughout the whole movie I can understand Gus's fear of oblivion. We all want to be remembered but oblivion is inevitable. And in some of the scenes it really makes you appreciate life a bit more, that you can live longer than some of people that are not so lucky. So yeah.. And this movie is not just about two teenagers with cancer who fall in love.. No.. It's way more than that, so please watch the movie and you'll understand.. And I highly recommend that you read the book, and I mean actually read it because like I say there are some parts from the book that didn't make it to the big screen. And they cut the scene from the airport where John Green made a cameo. So yes, please do read the book. Okay? Okay.
Thank you for reading...
